review 1: This was a rocket ride of a book; it reached escape velocity in chapter two and just kept on burning. There's a lot to chew on here - unreliable narrators, considerations around whether we can trust our own motivations, external memory storage, the depths of friendship, love, complacency, radical change versus the fear of the masses, and a ripping good conspiracy-within a conspiracy plot. I'm not sure I understood everything, and I'm not sure if the radical changes in the characters were always justified, but I'm certain I'll enjoy reading this several more times.

... moreing without their knowledge or participation, and tyranny is often born out of one man's idea of utopia, yet the ability to do so has to be seductive beyond imagining. What an interesting premise this turned out to be. I guess I was a little disappointed that, in the end, the consequences just applied to the antagonist. less
