Review: City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments #3) by Cassandra Clare

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow.

Okay.

at first, i read this this with not so much excitement. i mean, the other two books still haven’t make me hook up with the story and characters. but this book probably the most okay of all. the reveals of all others events and new characters and new worlds to explore. although, to be honest, i still did not really care enough with the characters except Magnus Bane. I don’t know, he was not an important character really, I mean he did his part but well. I like him. Clary is… whiny, and she sometimes so childish it was sooooo annoying. Jace thought everything he think its right, then it’s right.

The one thing that didn’t really get me in this book is the romance. damn, romance. Why couldn’t just Clary be a big girl and move on? Oh, yeah no, because she always intertwine with Jace, obviously. I just did not feel that spark… that spark and emotion and feeling when you are reading and thinking that yes, they could be together and I am happy, I didn’t feel any of that. Just knowing, and yeah. maybe not there yet, I hope I could feel for them both, in the next book! But at least, this book get rid of the ridiculous idea of liking her own brother. That idea is… really.

Beside, talk about the story line and plot. I really did enjoy it. much surprising old event and so much secrets finally unveils. It was better than the other previous book imo.
