Review: The Dream Thieves

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater

[Goodreads] Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…

“I guess now would be a good time to tell you,” He said. “I took Chainsaw out of my dreams.”

  • Review: The Raven Boys

Oh boy, in this book I just fell in love with Ronan Lynch, a.k.a. a tortured dreamer who deserves the damn world.

This book just has such an interesting plot and concepts. Original and always completely unexpected.

This book just made me love Gansey and Blue (and Ronan!) even more. They’re just such interesting characters, and the kind of people I’d like to be friends with IRL. (I need more interesting friends). Although I want to love Adam as much as I love everyone else, I can’t yet. I didn’t really like his attitude or behavior in this book. He should just accept his friend’s support (emotional, if not financial) and open up to them. I really want to love him, though (and I’m totally in his protection squad). (Also, Noah is precious! But I’d like to see more of him…. so glad there are still two books left in the series.)

Honestly, I kind of felt really bad for Kandinsky and I wanted him to get on everyone else’s side (and I kind of wanted him to kiss Ronan?)… I just want Ronan to be happy.

The trees speak latin.

The writing, as I mentioned in my The Raven Boys review, is wonderful, just so beautiful. Maggie Stiefvater is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.

This book kept me glued to the pages, reading for hours on end. It was exciting and thoroughly interesting with not even one dull moment. Basically, I strongly recommend you go check out this series if you haven’t yet done so. You won’t regret it.
