With a new target on their back and the media now focused on their family as the Presidential election approaches, Liam and Melody must fight on two battlefronts. Melody is torn between being in love with Liam and wanting to kill him for lying to her. Being in love and showing love are two different things in her world. Liam wants to do anything to protect his family even if that means hurting the people he loves.
Family is everything… but what happens when they’re out for your blood? Everything they have been through is nothing compared to what is coming…
My Review:
“Why were our lives so fucking complicated? All I wanted to do was sell drugs, make love to my wife, and rule in peace.”
Like before, if you are 18 and below, I recommend that you not pick up this book because of the very mature and violent things that goes on. You have been warned.
The Untouchables is the second book of the Ruthless People series by J.J. McAvoy, which picks up to where Ruthless People ended and now is about Liam and Melody Callahan ruling over the entire Chicago state, and now climbing on top of the political food chain through the candidacy of their sister-in-law’s father to run as the President of the United States of America. We’re now entering a new book filled with more blood, more crime, and more angst!

From my review of Ruthless People, you all know how much I love the first book! I even listed down everything I loved about it. The second book did not disappoint! Things got even more complicated as new characters were thrown into the scenes, new twists came up, more drugs, and even more crime was committed.
Aside from the hot sex scenes and banter going on between Liam and Melody, one of my most favorite things about this book was the character developments, especially in Melody. We all know how much of an ice queen Melody is, but I was amazed at how she was slowly starting to acknowledge her feelings and give care about her new family. It took us a long time for her to admit to Liam that she loves him in the first book, but I loved that she was finally able to trust him even more and admit those feelings to him – which is much to Liam’s approval. In Liam’s case, we got to see even more of his alpha-male personailty, especially during those parts where he was jealous of Melody’s previous lovers, protecting her fiercely when she got pregnant again, and how he always became like The Hulk when someone hurts Melody. Definitely The Mad Hatter. The book still features multiple POVs of the Callahan inner circle, and I really looked forward to the ones with Declan and Coraline in them *sighs*
The other thing I liked the most about this book is that it was so more fast-paced that the second one, and I didn’t realize a twist going on when I flipped a page and then BAM! There were a lot of twists in the book, probably even more than what appeared in the first one. Those twists are what I’ve been holding on to for a good measure while reading the book because they were soooooo good and soooooooooooooooo much more devastating. You definitely need to read the book to find out which twists I’m talking about.
Let’s not even talk about how the book ended with the freaking cliff-hanger! *pulls hair out and sobs*
I’m not ready for American Savages!
P.S. I’m so sorry for the Jake Peralta gifs, I freaking love him so much.
