Canadian stand-up comedian Russell Peters finally resumes live touring after filming Almost Famous for Netflix as he is set to be at the Philippine International Convention Center’s Plenary Hall on March 10, 2018, for the Manila leg of his Deported World Tour.
Featuring fresh materials, the show will include his signature interactions with the spectators.
“I love getting to know my audience. It’s a collaboration between us,” says Peters.
“I’ve been building the new act in clubs across the States over the past year and I’m very happy with it.”
Also part of the show is the legendary raconteur of weird stories and one of David Letterman’s favorite comics, Jake Johannsen.
Aside from being a stand-up comedian, Peters is also an esteemed actor. In fact, he has appeared in three films that are yet to be released. These are The Clapper with Ed Helms, Amanda Seyfried, and Tracy Morgan, Supercon with Ryan Kwanten and John Malkovich, and Public Schooled with Judy Greer.
Peters has also produced and starred in comedy-drama limited series The Indian Detective which will air by the end of the year, December 19, on Netflix all over the world.
In the series, the Canadian actor stars with Anupam Kher of The Big Sick and Silver Linings Playbook, William Shatner of Star Trek, Christina Cole of Suits and Casino Royale, and Mishqah Parthiephal of Keeping Up with the Kandasamys.
The Asia dates of Deported World Tour follow a run through Australia and New Zealand. His last tour travelled to over 26 countries with over 200 performances and more than 300,000 fans in attendance.
