review 1: I would think that anyone wanting a light romantic story would be satisfied with this book. With a setting of the Orient Express, Veronica Henry cleverly pulls together a variety of characters (such as a family, couples, single passenger) and we discover their backgrounds, the reasons why they are travelling on this particular trip on the Orient Express and all this on top of a love affair that occurred two generations earlier. The train trip ends in Venice and after some predictable and perhaps too cute conclusions a romantic novel ends. As an aside, while the story is set in our modern world with iPads and email, I was puzzled as to why LP records rather than CDs were mentioned in two separate settings. A light easy read.
review 2: I wish the title was " Seve
... moreral Nights on the Orient Express" - or at the very least "A Return Journey...." Like all Veronica Henry novels I've read, this did not disappoint. Loved the start with the 'Not On The Shelf' profiles of two characters. This is a book full of promise and happy, uplifting endings for all the characters. Loved it, can recommend it if you are looking for a positive, life affirming story. less
