Series in Which I’ve Only Read the First Book #2

Part 1 The Young Elites by Marie Lu

I read this ages ago. Over two years ago. The second one hadn’t even come out. And I really enjoyed it and I’m sad that I didn’t read the second one as soon as it came out, because now I’m not sure if I’ll ever continue with the series. I would like to, because it’s good, but I just don’t feel very drawn to it.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

Another one that I read over two years ago. No idea why I didn’t continue with it. I probably should.

The Gentlemen Bastards Series by Scott Lynch

I read the first book quite recently and I loved it and I actually have the second book and I’m about 400 pages in. The only problem is that I’ve been about 400 pages in for about 2 months. I want to finish this book so badly. This series is so good and I just got stuck because I’m busy and it’s so much easier to read things that come in bite-sized portions. Short chapters are my thing these days.

The Abhorsen Series by Garth Nix

Looks like the majority of these I’ve read this year. This was a cool book, cool concept. Not the biggest fan of the writing, but I want to continue with it because it’s just a cool and unique concept.

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard by Rick Riordan

My favourite Rick Riordan book to date. To be fair, I only recently read it, so I have an excuse. But I need to catch up on my Rick Riordan, man!

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

Another one of my favourites of the year. I actually own the second book. I just have to get on with reading it. But it’s just so huge and I have so little time, it intimidates me. Hopefully over the holidays, I’ll get to it.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I didn’t love this book, but I did enjoy it and I want to continue with it.

Chronicles of St. Mary by Jodi Taylor

I bought the first book randomly in an airport two years ago almost to the day because I was stuck there for 24 hours and I was stressed, so I did what I always do when I’m stressed: I bought a book. And I ended up loving it so much! It was so funny and action packed, Just One Damned Thing After Another. I honestly don’t know why I waited so long to continue with the series. but the second one is my current read and I’m loving it. So I will soon be able to cross this one off the list.
