The Memory of Love – Aminatta Forna
This book is amazing, read it, not knowing what to expect. I loved the twists and turns in the story, which really did keep me guessing.
It is also stark and honest in its telling of the Civil War. Rape, murder, violence, fear – all kinds of terrors could literally be on your doorstep. The book is really about the aftermath, and what do you do if 99% of the people have PTSD?
