MY THOUGHTS:
This is probably my absolute favorite book in the Wait For You series. J. Lynn’s writing is so descriptive and her stories are so believable (read more about her here). Stay With Me dives more into a suspenseful story line, a genre that Jen has played around with quite a few times and succeeded in. Both of the main characters are relatable and genuine.
Who are the main characters? Calla and Jax (ex-military hunk!). Calla is seriously one of the sweetest characters I’ve ever connected with. She was briefly introduced throughout Be With Me (#2) as Tess’s friend from one of her classes. You learn that she was in a house fire as a child that killed her sibling and left her with scars all over her body. She wears heavy make-up to cover them, but her personal perception of them are worse than what they actually look like. Especially to the main hero.
Jax is the main hero in the book, and hero he is! He’s an ex-military hunky hunk with an overprotective streak in his blood. He’s tatted up and sexy as hell. (Have I mentioned how easily jealous you can become reading J. Lynn’s books?) He ends up taking over the bar Calla’s mom owns, so when she comes back into town for a summer job, the two practically bash heads and connect at the same time. And when you find out the back story to how he knows her, **swoooooooon.**
When some nefarious events start taking place, Jax and Calla uncover a bad situation her mother has fallen into. And because her mother disappeared, the repercussions fall on Calla. There are many parts of this book that leave you gasping and cringing. There are many parts of this book that make you squeal with glee and laugh your butt off. The laughing mostly comes from Katie, the stripper that works across the street from the bar who lacks a filter. She’s probably my favorite side character after Jacob (from Wait For You, #1).
Watching Jax help Calla come out of her shell is beautiful. He never once makes her feel sorry for herself. He’s direct, serious, and seriously one of the sexiest book boyfrands I’ve ever had. When I need a quick pick-me-up, this is typically the book I turn to. Jax is so strong. Because of his steadfast support, Calla blossoms into a strong heroine. While he has his own demons from his military career, his loyalty and love for Calla lifts him above everything else.

Seriously, this is one of the best books I’ve ever read. I devoured it in a little under a day (thanks life for getting in my way) and I’ve probably reread it about 10 times. The romance between Jax and Calla is so sweet and hot. So if you’re looking for a suspenseful story with lots of actions and sexy scenes as well as a well developed romance, then Stay With Me by J.
