TBR 44; Mystery Horrors

Welcome, reader/s! For a while now, I’ve been writing a bi-weekly post about books that are on
my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.

The two books on this weeks’ post are two books that I really want to read, but for some reason I keep on finding reasons to put off reading them..

The first book is a book I own, and it’s called If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch. If You Find Me is a Yound Adult Contemporary Mystery that has abuse in the story.

If you are new to my blog, I like to not read Mystery synopsis’ as much as I do with other books. If I read a Mystery novel’s synopsis prior to reading the book, the synopsis just spoils my reading of the book. So all I really know about If You Find Me is that the main character has grown up in a broken-down camper hidden deep in a national forest. The main characters’ mother is mentally ill who, I think, doesn’t trust anyone or anything. Making Carey’s life incredibly hard for her, and her little sister Janessa, who depends on Carey for everything.

The second book is a library book! It’s called Shutter, and it’s written by Courtney Alameda. I’ve heard a few things here and there surrounding the story, but apart from people saying that Shutter is either Creepy/scary, I haven’t heard much.

I want to read Shutter to actually find out if the book is worth being called creepy or not. I mean, the cover itself is kind of Creepy which has it going for it. Whenever I see the cover in the library, I just want to pick it up and read it! Reading the genres Shutter is listed as just makes me want to read Shutter even sooner! Shutter is a Young Adult Horror novel, with a heavy influence of the Paranormal/Ghosts. Which is exciting in and of itself.

Have you read either of these novels??
If you have, let me know! I’d love to know what you think/thought of these books.

Happy Reading!
Adele
