We stayed at The Angel in Bourne in September, because I’d organized a gathering of friends for Chris’ birthday, we also had the singer Danny Gruff performing. We wanted to stay somewhere close-by to the Nags head pub where the do was, and this was perfect, within 3 minute walking distance.
The check-in area is a bit odd, in that it’s in a cafe. There were quite a lot of stairs/corridors for Chris to carry our case up. The stairwell when we first went in, smelled a bit ‘damp’ and ‘fusty’ and there was a hole in the ceiling!
The room itself was quite nice, spacious, good sized bed. No complaints about the layout of the room. But … and this was a big deal for me, wi-fi was rubbish and I couldn’t access the Internet. It didn’t matter too much for the purposes of our visit; but it wouldn’t have been suitable at all, if I was needing to work!
Breakfast the next morning was in the cafe area. It was fairly quiet, just another couple who actually were guests at our do. Breakfast was very nicely done and was delicious!
Would I stay there again? Yes, if I was having a night out in Bourne. But, not if I was needing to work, simply because of the lack of wi-fi.
