review 1: Ms. Wisler, I am your fan! This is the first book I have read by Alice Wisler, and to say the least, it was a pleasurable experience. In the past, many Christian fictions I have read were poorly written, predictable and surreal. This book was well-written, engaging, and for the most part, real to life. Set in the Outer Banks of N.C., the book centers around Jackie Donovan, her dream of marrying the "right" man, her dream of owning a bed-and-breakfast.... what is God's will? Is He faithful??? I loved the incorporation of the local flavor of Cape Hatteras, the unique people who enter Jackie's life. Extra bonus!! Recipes for the dishes served up in the book!
review 2: i don't normally pick books based on authors very often but i decided to read this book because... more i loved the Rain Song. it was so easy to read and it flowed very well. When i started Hatteras girl it surprised me in many ways. there were similarities between the two and i could tell they were by the same person. the more i read the more i liked. i thought this book was so much better than the Rain Song and there was an actual ending to the book that i thought was missing in the Rain Song. my heart smiled and fluttered with joy when i read the line "Tell me again." i wanted it to end this way but it wasnt one of those ending that hinted and slid into what you saw coming. it was an actual ending that i wanted to happen but didnt really expect at the same time. all in all i loved the book!!! less
