The Body Confidence playlist

LADIES, IT’S TIME TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT OURSELVES!

Like myself, many women out there lack self-esteem and confidence issues which can often lead to comparison to our friends, people on social media or models to which we conclude that we aren’t enough. In my spare time I read a lot about building confidence and how to love myself in my own skin. We are taught a lot of things and how to love but we aren’t taught how to love ourselves; only we can do that. I use music as a source to lift mood and to encourage myself to be happier with my body. Music helps!

I’ve put a list of songs that I love to listen to and wish to share to you girls who need a musical confidence boost. They are on Spotify so get on the app, listen and appreciate the beautiful aesthetics you were born with.

L O V E | Y O U R S E L F

I’ve put this song first because it’s a great song but it also has a lot of meaning that isn’t as obvious as some songs.. My favourite lyrics of the song is ‘And when you’re gone the music goes oh woah oh, I love my rhythm, Lose my soul’ which gave me chills because music can help us let go just be ourselves. The meaning of this song is also about connecting with your inner strength which is the key to glowing and loving who we are!

When it comes to body confidence how can I not add the Queen of confidence that is Bey! I have seen Beyonce live on tour 3 times and I can confirm that Naughty Girl is one of my favourite performances that she does, especially the performance on The Mrs Carter Show Tour. Beyonce combines classiness with sexiness, but she also encourages women to bring out their sensual side and to simply flaunt what you got! We all got our inner sexy side, so own it!

This song is not directly written towards body confidence, but the lyrics of the song I related to body confidence because there are times in life when we may not feel as confident. Perhaps you are going through a phase and you confidence is knocked, we all experience this at one point. My point for this song is to never think you can get your inner spark and glow back.

Hailee Steinfield’s ‘Most girls’ gives a very important message to us ladies to be unique and to not follow most girls because society tells us so. It can be hard to feel optimistic when we gain a few pounds or we see girls on social media that we consider as pretty. Building the esteem within ourselves and being ourselves even if it goes against society is what we should do. There’s something admirable about every one of us.

I love this song because it’s heartfelt and encourages women to find our inner superwoman. Us females are great and I promise that we all have at least 1 thing that makes us unstoppable!

The title says it all. Whether you’re boobylicious or bootylicious, own it and flaunt it. We were born with assets for a reason!

This is such a beautiful song because it really talks about how we shouldn’t change ourselves because the world can change its heart. From this, I interpreted it that beauty changes over time and so does society. We shouldn’t conform to what is considered beautiful, conform to yourself and that is all.

Like Beyonce’s ‘Naughty girl’, this song reminds us that we all have a fiery side and we should release that through confidence. Ariana’s idea of dangerous woman is to do things you shouldn’t; we should be bold, take risks and with body confidence, we can unleash our dangerous woman. (no crimes please!)

Girl powerrrr all the way! Not only do we gain confidence from ourselves, but our friends are amazing at boosting our ego and telling us how great we are. This song gets me feeling sassy because it reminds me with my friends having fun, feeling happy and embracing the girl power attitude.

I’ve left this song to last because it gives an important message that females are more than pretty girls. Beyond objectification and women portrayed as sexual objects, women are intelligent, family members, friends, parents and have careers. I’ve used this in my body confidence playlist because we must not get our esteem purely from our appearance. You are more than that!

It is possible that we will fall at times and not feel as confident with our image. This article is in no way to discourage that you shouldn’t follow trends as such, but a list of songs that could lift your mood. There will be times we won’t feel body confident, but your inner self will eventually power through that.

We are all worth admiring, there is something pretty about all of us. It just takes us to find it and others will find it afterwards!

Lots of Love,
