The Deep New England Freeze

It’s a bitterly cold New England day. According to my weather app, it’s 3 degrees below zero. I’m fine staying indoors, sitting at my desk, pen and red marker in hand.

READING

I’m 55 pages into SING, UNBURIED, SING. Excellent book. Author Jesmyn Ward has such a way with words. Powerful and evocative writing.

Here’s what’s on my reading docket for January:

Jan 1: SING, UNBURIED, SING by Jesmyn Ward (Fiction)
Jan 8: EVICTED: POVERTY AND PROFIT IN THE AMERICAN CITY by Matthew Desmond (Non-Fiction)
Jan 15: GO, WENT, GONE by Jenny Erpenbeck (F)
Jan 22: WHEN BREATH BECOMES AIR by Paul Kalanithi (NF)
Jan 29: TINKERS by Paul Harding (F)

WRITING

I’m up to seven minor issues I need to resolve in my book before I feel comfortable printing out for a final read through. Looking to nail down these seven items by the end of the week so I can spend the weekend re-reading my manuscript.
