My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi MeadowsIt is set to be released on June 26, 2018, by HarperTeen.
I haven’t read My Lady Jane and I own the book. I am planning on to this summer so I can read My Lady Jane and My Plain Jane back to back. I have heard that both books are hilarious. I am not sure though, which book that people love the most or have loved both equally. I will have to read and find out this summer. My Lady Jane is all about Jane Grey back in England during the 1550s. My Plain Jane is modeled after Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë.
I love the cover. I’m glad to see the style being the same as My Lady Jane but it is still different. I love the color combo. The blue and the yellow works together well. I’m glad to see the outfit and the hairstyle match the time period.
You may think you know the story. After a miserable childhood, penniless orphan Jane Eyre embarks on a new life as a governess at Thornfield Hall. There, she meets one dark, brooding Mr. Rochester. Despite their significant age gap (!) and his uneven temper (!!), they fall in love — and, Reader, she marries him. (!!!)
Or does she?
Prepare for an adventure of Gothic proportions, in which all is not as it seems, a certain gentleman is hiding more than skeletons in his closets, and one orphan Jane Eyre, aspiring author Charlotte Brontë, and supernatural investigator Alexander Blackwood are about to be drawn together on the most epic ghost hunt this side of Wuthering Heights.
