What Are Four Ways That Panicking Can Help You Become A Better Person?

Keep this in mind when it comes to understanding how panicking serves a purpose in your life.

The reality is that everyone has hit the panic button at one time or another in life. There are just some things in life that will stress all of us enough to where we simply panic, but is that completely a bad thing?

Today’s inspiration is all about understand how important it is to have moments of panic in our lives. We will discuss the following:

  • What are four reasons why people do not want to experience what makes them panic?
  • What are four reasons why it is important to experience what makes you panic?
  • What are four ways that panicking can help you become a better person?

What is the meaning of panic?

Merriam-Webster defines panic as:

  • A state or feeling of extreme fear that makes someone unable to act or think normally.
  • A situation that causes many people to become afraid and to rush to do something.

When a person panics, the are liable to think, say, and do things that may not represent what the world know of them on a daily basis.

What are four reasons why people do not want to experience what makes them panic?

Feeling and experiencing panic is something that most people do not want to experience. I will list four reasons why people would rather not experience what makes them panic:

  • It highlights their worse fears.
    • When a person is panicking, their fears become intensified and overstated.
    • When this happens, it can cause a mental and physical overload to where a person simply shuts down and quits.
  • They experience a lack of control over the situation and what could happen.
    • When a person does not feel in control of the things that they are panicking about, they may start to overcompensate and micromanage the situation.
    • When this happens, it can cause a person to not trust anyone or anything around them.
  • The fears may come true.
    • A person may fear that something they have seen or witnessed could truly happen to them due to the signs and signals they see in his or her own life.
    • This can cause a person to really point out things to where the people around them become scared and concerned.
  • They are afraid of what people will think about them.
    • A person may try to hide what makes them panic simply because they do not want people to see what makes them weak or stressed.
    • When this happens, a person will try to bury them to the point where it can balloon into something that could prove to be dangerous and too much to handle down the road.
  • Panic may be something you choose not to deal with now, but you got to a some point because it will keep following you around and grow until you deal with it.

    What are four reasons why it is important to experience what makes you panic?

    As much as you may not want to experience or deal with makes you panic, it is important that you do experience these moments. Here are four reasons why it is important you should experience these moments in your life:

  • You learn about the things that concern you.
    • Your panic can bring forth the topics and issues that trouble or bother you.
  • You learn how panicking makes you feel.
    • You get to experience the feelings so that you can understand it for the next time it should come back (if it comes back again).
  • You learn about your own person strength.
    • You get to see in the moments that makes you panic how strong you are in dealing with and overcoming the issues in your life.
  • You learn about the people that are around you.
    • You have the opportunity to see how people treat and deal with you when you are panicking in certain moments.
  • When you are able to experience what makes you panic, it can help you understand yourself and become better prepared for future moments.

    What are four ways that panicking can help you become a better person?

    Believe it or not, when you panic, you have a chance to use those moments to make you a better person. Here is how you can do this:

  • Your panicking can show you how to open up about yourself to others.
    • Do not be afraid to open up to people about what makes you panic.
    • You can do this by writing and speaking to people.
  • Your panicking can help you learn how to deal with problems using teamwork.
    • Give people the opportunity to come in and provide the resources necessary to help you deal with what makes you panic.
    • You can do this simply by asking and allowing the right people to do their part in getting you through the situation that you are going through.
  • Your panicking can help you understand your strengths and weaknesses.
    • In your moments of panicking, you will learn about what you can handle in terms of pressure and stress.
    • All you have to do is take in what is around you and take mental notes so that you can improve on what makes you weak and build upon what makes you strong in those moments of panicking.
  • Your panicking can make you a valuable resource to someone else.
    • When you go through moments that make you panic, you gain knowledge and wisdom as to how to deal with and overcome those situations.
    • You can be a valuable resource by making yourself available and sharing what you know so that someone else can overcome just like you did.
  • If you can use your panic to your advantage, you can gain a lot from it that can make a better person.

    I encourage you to take the time to look at the moments where you have panicked. Granted, some of those moments were not probably easy for you deal with, there were opportunities for you learn from them and become better as a person. Let’s remember that panicking can serve as a teaching tool for us to learn about yourself, but it is up to you to take those lessons and apply them.
