review 1: Missing Mommy is a simple read with good themes about the strength of family to overcome hardship. It is a good tool to help a young child who has lost a parent to cope. The family in this story has just lost their mother. The father cries and the son is angry because he doesn't understand. The family finds ways to cope by keeping her memory alive, but most importantly remembering that they have each other.
review 2: So I don't know what I was thinking. I was at the library, and this was in the display for the month. I decided to grab it because I just assumed that it would be a book about mommy hiding, or something like that. Given the cover of the book I had no idea that it was about bereavement. ... moress I learned a valuable lesson. I should never just grab a book, and go. I am sure it is an excellent book for children needing to know about death, but I just wish that the cover better indicated that. less
