review 1: I've always had a soft spot for romance between people who shouldn't fall in love. Some of the scenes were amazing, while others felt very underwritten. All in all though I absolutely loved it, a great story which departs from the current popular trashy vampire/mummy porn that seems to have flooded the market. If you are looking for an easy, historically accurate and detailed Romance look no further.
review 2: I wanted to like this book - I really did. It sounded like a wonderful love story from the description. And it was, but I could not get past the writing. The author tended to get bogged down in the minutiae of everyday life. I would get so sidetracked by the dirt on Rebecca's gloves or the the layout of her apartment that I lost track of the story.
