review 1: When unknown, ordinary Paige Townsen gets a lead part in a teen blockbuster based on a trilogy of popular young adult books, her life changes completely. While filming in Hawaii she has to learn how to become a movie actress, navigate her new found fame, and juggle the relationships she has with her two male costars - both of whom she's attracted to. While I thought it was a novel idea to tell the story of the teen lives behind the scenes of major motion pictures, overall I thought the story and the characters were clichéd. I didn't like the writing much either, but can see how teen readers, especially those into popular culture and romance, would devour this book.
review 2: I'm pulling the plug on this one for now and calling it a DNF. I just can't get int... moreo it. At all. I don't like the characters, I don't like the relationships that are happening, I don't believe that she's the one they would pick for this role nor do I like that we completely missed out on the anticipation of the auditions and the excitement of getting the role, and I just don't really care what happens. I wanted to be able to appreciate this for the fluffy, fun romance that it was but all I could think about what how much it felt like a peek at what was going on behind the scenes during the filming of Twilight. The high-profile YA book turned movie, a love triangle, and a bunch of things that I just don't care about. I hope that maybe someday I'll be able to pick this back up and enjoy it for what it is, but today is not that day. I hope you guys can enjoy it more than I did! less
