Replacing the cartridge on your HP Deskjet 2130 printer is quite easy. You need not do much as you can follow the prompts given below to remove the cartridge once you view an error message on the control panel. The error message may state that the cartridge is low on ink or empty.
- Before replacing the ink cartridges, ensure that you insert paper into the HP Deskjet 2130 printer. Now, lift the input tray.

- Now, lightly press down on the ink cartridge to release it and then carefully pull the ink cartridge out of its slot.
- Take out one of the new ink cartridges from its package. Make a note that you should touch only the black plastic on the ink cartridge.
- Discard the plastic tape. It is advisable to not replace the protective tape on the contacts.
- Make a note that mishandling the above parts can result in clogs, ink failure and bad electrical connections.
- Carefully hold the ink cartridge by its sides with the contacts toward the printer and then place the HP Deskjet 2130 ink cartridge into its proper slot.
- Check if the black ink cartridge goes into the right slot and the tri-color ink cartridge goes into the left slot.
- Now, slide the new ink cartridge at a slight upward angle into the empty slot and then carefully push the ink cartridge until it snaps into place.
- Make sure that you repeat these instructions to install the other ink cartridge if necessary. Now, close the ink cartridge access door.
- Note that to achieve the best print quality, it is necessary to align the ink cartridges.
- Once you load the paper into the printer, the printer may automatically print an alignment page.
- Raise the scanner lid and then place the alignment page with the print side down on the scanner glass.
- Make sure that you position it according to the engraved guides around the glass and then close the scanner lid.
- Now, ensure that you press the Start Copy Black button or the Start Copy Color button on the control panel of the printer.You may notice that the HP Deskjet 2130 printer aligns the ink cartridges.
