Dalziel & Pascoe
review 1: I love this Dalziel and Pascoe series - so does Janice. I'm listening to this one and it's just great. While it's billed as an English mystery, it's really a novel of manners as well. And hilariously mad, to boot. If you can get the audio version and like that sort of thing, it's worth it to hear the reader's rendition of Dalziel's gruff Yorkshire accent. There are three episodes of the TV series available in USA dvd format that I highly recommend too.
review 2: This was a slow starter and it is part of a series of books. It did get rather good toward the end as the pace picked up. HOWEVER, there were TOO many twists and turns of plot, prompting me to flip frantically back and forth between pages to see which character I had missed at a crucial placement. T
... moreurns out that three with the same last name was just too much, it all blurs at that bit. I may read another by this author, but not for a while. I enjoy a slower revelation, rather than everything all thrown in my face on the very last pages. The characters were likable and not too perfect, so as a series, I may visit these people again. less

A good Pascoe and Daizel book. A bit of light relief between more weighty books.

A great read. Dalziel and Pascoe at their very best. Not for the squeamish!

No character in fiction is quite like Andy Dalziel.
