review 1: For me personally the spanking was just too much. It's not done in a sexy steamy way but rather in serious punishment. Previously I'd read "The Knight's Prisoner" by Renee Rose which had a lot of spanking but seemed to be done in a romance kind of way. But this one, I read to page 81 for the plot and expected the romance to go somewhere but sadly it hasn't. I just don't think this author is for me.
review 2: I really enjoyed “Pleasing the Colonel” by Renee Rose. After a year at war away from his two children, Colonel Watson was headed home. Unfortunately, the coach he was on was in an accident and he had to spend several hours with the other passengers waiting for assistance. In that time, he watched as one of the passengers got another tipsy and lis... moretened attentively as she divulged all sorts of secrets, including how she lied about her references in order to obtain a position as a governess. Little did he know that she was the new governess recently hired to take care of his two children. They were both shocked the next morning when she reported for work.Amanda Downy navigates her relationship with the members of the Watson household with caution, but cannot help but develop feelings for the stern colonel. Renee Rose demonstrates creativity and exceptional character development during each interaction of these seemingly different characters. The series of events that brings these characters together is realistic and captivating. I most certainly loved this tale and will be adding it to the list of books I would definitely pick up again. less
