review 1: The book revolves around the relationship between Sarah, a tender, lonely woman trying to live her life, and Hill, the famous, and adventurous photographer. They have a long and complicated on and off relationship. Hill often horrified by what he sees at his photographing assignments comes to Sarah and seeks comfort from her. Sarah herself is a lonely struggling soul who is trying to rise up from a horrifying past and heal. Sporadic visits by Hill curb her loneliness but also the ease at which he leaves to not turn up in months just hurts her even more. For Sarah has been in love with Hill since before their lives got so entangled. Hill, she feels, has no feelings for her but still she continues to let him come inside her home and use her body and emotions. There were a co... moreuple of things I liked in the book, and some which I didn't. The relationship aspect between Sarah and Hill was interesting, but I wish it had been explored a bit deeply. I was annoyed by how Sarah seemed to be so gullible and weak despite all she'd been through. Hill was a plain meanie, but still he realises his love for Sarah and that 'redeems' him. I wish Sarah had given him a kick on his ass for the stuff he put her through. I liked the character of Jax, Hill's elder brother, and how he puts some sense in Hill's head and is so nice to Sarah. Read this if you wish for a short emotional read, but overall I think I'm just growing over the Romance genre but this was not my cup of coffee. I received a free ebook of Sarah Mine from the author in exchange for an honest review.
review 2: I read a review of this book and just knew I needed to check it out. I am so glad I did. WOW this was a great story. It may have been a short read but I just can’t stop thinking about it.This was one of the emotionally gripping stories that you just can’t put down. The characters were so real and believable. Riann Colton did just an amazing job with bringing the story to life. When I started reading I felt all the emotions and sadness Sarah was feeling when her causal hook-up Hill shows up at her door after a four year absence wanting to do what they always do. But as you read it from Sarah’s POV you really begin to feel the heartbreak Hill had caused her. I found myself cheering for her and her strength right away. It was not until later in the story you uncover her truth and how Hill is tied into the person she is today.Hill on the other hand is just as lost as Sarah is he just hasn’t been ready to face it. It is Hill’s older brother Jax that forces Hill to man up and open his eyes to what is right in front of him. Jax, a supporting character in the story plays an interracial role in both of their lives and his life lessons were inspiring. If you have a few hours to spare, I highly recommend this book, you won’t regret it! less

This is a novella and the only place it loses marks,, for me, is that it is too short.
