review 1: Une fois encore, Schmitt m'attiré par sa perfection quand il s'agit du style. Dans «La femme au miroir» il n'existe aucun mot accidentel. Pour moi, ce que attire mon attention, c'est plutôt la manière de conduire l'histoire que ce qui est raconté. Je sais que beaucoup de lecteurs peuvent trouver «La femme au miroir» un peu trivial, pas vraiment émouvant, mais pour moi, la lecture était une expérience exceptionelle. Je restais sous l'influence de la narration de Schmitt un certain temps après la fin de la lecture. Ce que j'adore dans le livres de cet auteur, c'est leur caractère qu'il s'agit à poser des questions, pas donner les reponses. La caractéristique de ces questions depend du lecteur, mais elle le toujours influencent.
review 2: This was a... more beautifully written novel and had me from the very beginning. Three different women in different eras who all lead a misguided and confusing life find themselves and who they really are along the way; which is where the 'mirror' takes part. They all look at a sort of reflection of themselves-of how they lead their life and how they are as an inner person and their soul and decide that life can be happier if even the smallest thing about themselves is changed. Even if it backfires on them. All three women wanted a better life then how they were brought into the world. They wanted to better themselves!!!I really loved this book. PERIOD. less
