review 1: I am so glad my friend Jackie recommended this book to me. It was very suspenseful to the very end. I especially liked how it was written, in reverse order. It starts out with the death of Julia Quinn. She is murdered for some mysterious reason. Her husband, Nick, is accused of killing her and during his interrogation a man arrives with a gold watch and a letter that will explain everything. His mission is to try to prevent her death but first he needs to figure out why. The watch takes Nick back, an hour at a time, for 12 hours. It takes a while for Nick to figure it out and Julia becomes like Kenny on South Park, dying in some horrible way every hour. There are lots of plot twists, lots of interesting characters, and lots of cliffhangers as Nick comes to the end ... moreof each hour. The book also brings up some ethical questions as to what a person would do if he knew the future. Would you use that power for good or evil? This book was a thrill ride and I liked it a lot.
review 2: The interesting concept is the reason I checked out the book after seeing it at the library. (The chapters count down from 12, as the book is about hourly time travel into the past.) I wanted to like this book, but there were a few issues. It didn't captivate me. I was pushing to get through the first page. I initially closed it after realizing the author didn't know the difference between "who" and "whom." In a moment of boredom, I picked it up again and came upon a sex scene just a few pages into the book. Now it's in my car, waiting to be dropped off at the library. less

bri
A bit boring because of the author's tendency to continuously recapitulate the plot.
