review 1: Encouragingly Foster attempts to explain how to meditate. Unfortunately, he is bogged down in words of grandeur & praises and fails to clarify how to meditate. Further, Foster tries to explain how to identify God's voice & how you can learn to listen for him. Again, Foster flowers the reader with gushing stories that only circle his intent.In the end, Foster has good intentions, but shallow accomplishments in describing how to find sanitary of your soul.
review 2: I can see how many people would think that this book is fantastic. On the surface it deals with a spiritual view of prayer that is very familiar to Quakers. However I find that the methodology of prayer and listening for a response from God is very mystical to me. I prefer to hear from Him sola s... morecriptura. Bible without prayer leads to legalism and prayer without Bible study leads to mysticism. Dangerous ground my friend because you rely on your own intellect to speak to you like God.p less
