review 1: Where do I start? I LOVED this graphic novel. Loved it. Despite minimal dialog, do not expect to just breeze through this book. I found myself flipping back and to see how pages interacted with one another. Universal themes play out over time simultaneously. Love, death, birth and more. The graphics are dream like in some instances, like a memory. Other times more concrete. Find it. Read it. I hope you love it.
review 2: Take a space in time and make it the setting for a story that jumps years, decades, centuries, even eras often on the same page. HERE is a quantum physics of a comic, and like that theory it pushes the limits of the known science of its art past the boundaries of what was once thought possible. The art is at once clear and precise and opaquely
... moreexpressive, which suits Richard McGuire’s narrative, as its odd frames open to expose life in a single place with myriad pasts, presents and futures. The genesis of the work began as a short feature in Raw years ago and has since expanded to fill a thick hardcover of its own, but the tale is without beginning or end, just an endless middle. Isn’t that how we really see all stories? less
