review 1: This book describes Nelson’s Mandela most important life lessons. Each chapter describes a situation out of Nelson’s life and the way Nelson acted upon that situation. The way he handled certain situations is sometimes unusual but proven to be effective.I really enjoyed reading this book! It taught me some very important lessons which I’m certainly going to apply in my life.Although this book isn’t a complete biography I did learn about who Nelson Mandela was and what he did for Africa. I’m ashamed that I knew so little about this important man. Thanks for your wisdom Mr. Mandela.R.I.P. Rolihlahla Mandela
review 2: Brilliant little book, Stengel packs life philosophies and leadership of complex and brilliant man in 15 chapters presented as lessons. Man
... moredela lives in all of us, concepts such as Ubuntu (I am because we are!) are ones western societies ought to apply for the greater good. Each lesson or chapter is rewarding and may be applied to your own life, I enjoyed the concepts of leading form behind and leading from in front, great leaders know when to step in and intervene, but they also know they can trust and watch their people from a distance. The book is packed with real life experiences, from freedom fighter, to prisoner, gardener and finally president of a Rainbow Nation! We can all do brilliant things even from a prison cell. less

The author did a great job of distilling Mandela's messages and life to words we can live by.
