review 1: True to the ideals of my generation, I initially picked up this book due to its fantastic cover. I was offered the chance to grab whatever two books I wanted from a table several stacks high. Of course, at the time, I had no idea what the book described. It looked like a classic kidnapper case; open and shut. However, I soon realized that this book was far from anything I'd ever read. I was truly astounded when the book ended and I still couldn't grasp what happened. I re-read it three times in the weeks following. I was in my fifth time of surfing though this story when I realized something: Not every story has a concrete ending. I can never convey to you how much this shocked me. I will forever read books in a completely different manner. I immerse myself in the story, a... morend as I reach the final pages, nothing is more important than what I see on the page. Every authors' intent is to tell the story as they know it. This is what I know to be true.
review 2: The tragic events of March 1, 1932 as examined under the lens of master cartoonist Rick Geary. If you know nothing about the case this is a great primer, filled as always with Geary's wonderful, evocative artwork. He also gets extra points for acknowledging the later claims made around the case regarding police ineptitude and possible innocence (the evidence presented here heavily implies that Hauptmann, while certainly guilty, was likely not acting alone). Good stuff. less

Not my favorite of the Rick Geary true crime series, but still totally worthy.
