review 1: Simple and adorable alternative history of the early 1900's set in New York City, Hollywood, and Paris. Blanche is a bright but innocent young musician thrust into various conspiracies and adventures. Each city provides it's own intrigue and adventure which she becomes a witness to. My only disappointment with the story was that she was that she did not have an active role in the adventure. I was hoping she would have had to make a difficult choice that would have swayed the outcome. Maybe in the next volume she will lose more of her innocence and find an active role in the story.
review 2: Okay, yeah, not so much. I ADORE Rick Geary's artwork, and his sily way of presenting this amusing tale... but honestly, as you start to read, bit by bit, it starts becoming
... more less amusing and silly and more... strange. The belief that any of it is truth just goes down the toilet, and you begin to wonder, was the person on whose letters this was purportedly based just crazy or writing fiction, or was this an actual work OF fiction? You have no idea...and that's what is annoying. By the end, I was really glad I liked the artwork at least, because I kind of wanted those last couple hours of my life back. Not a very satisfying 'ending' and not much reason to have read it- despite my enjoyment of the art itself. bummer. less

It was kind of hard to understand at times but it was really good.

Great art, but thin stories.
