review 1: I wasn't sure I was going to like this book, but I was wrong. I loved it.great story line, and exciting believable characters. The whole story seems to be narrated by a woman who is trying to make her way as a news journalist. I had to look back and see that the author was a man. this book has everything--a vicious tornado--a child abduction--murder-mahem-international intreigue and then some. A real page turner.
review 2: Absolutely fantastic book with lots of plot twists. What would you do if you found yourself at a flea market in a parking lot when a tornado is about to touch the ground? In the midst of pushing a stroller with your 5 month old son and clutching the hand of your daughter, you are running towards the only building in sight. A couple you ha... mored just recently seen while buying clothes at the market offers to help with your son so you can hold your daughter. You gratefully accept as you can only hope that you will all survive the tornado. You all make it safely into the building. You get on the ground holding your daughter with your son still in his stroller as you clutch the handle when suddenly the tornado strikes the building. With all the devastation, you black out as something hits your head. When you come to, your daughter asks if you are all right, but your son's stroller is gone as is the couple. You don't know if your son is still alive and the authorities are dealing with so much as many people died. A reporter stops by the next day and is struck by this story very deeply as she lost her sister at a young age. Great story. Couldn't put the book down. less
