review 1: Extermus Deus and the Planetary Cleansing. Jack Gammon takes a job in the big city with a major press agency only to be dispatched to Brazil to cover a terror bombing of a restaurant that killed two employees. He is soon dragged into a seemingly endless investigation into illegal adoption, kidnapping and murder. As he hurtles from North America to South America to Africa and then Europe, he finds additional clues to the genetic terror being planned by a berserk former CIA scientist who is bent on clearing off the earth's plate to help with overpopulation. If I could have given 4.5 stars I would have. This is an excellent book, and I wrote the author about it.
review 2: Well entrenched in the thriller genre, The Panic Zone tells 3 separate storylines which (of co
... moreurse) resolve together at the end. Given that the author is a former journalist, it perhaps is not surprising that the best of these storylines is about a journalist named Jack Gannon. It is a good page turning read. Unfortunately, the other two storylines are nowhere near the same standard. One is dull (the special agent) and the other suffers from very weak dialog (woman who has lost her baby). On the whole, I can't recommend the book because I think there are other choices out there with better writing. I'm a bit disappointed to say this given that the author is from the same city as me and I would love to give his work better support. less

Sort of a peculiar/disturbing medical/kidnapping drama.
