review 1: Ismail TaoubaDecember 19, 2014English 7-3Demigod DiariesThis books starts by introducing the main character Luke, a demigod. He is the son of Artemis and hated his dad. He thought "...all gods are jerks to leave their kids alone without help" (Riordan 7). Luke is also very easily angered, that is both good and bad. Over the years he fought many monsters then he meets a friend named Thalia. The adventures begin. Now these two demigods are constantly fighting monters. They find this goat from Zeus, Thalia's dad. "Why would the goat lead us to this mansion" Is what Luke was thinking when the goat led them there (Riordan 14). They soon find out that this mansion is not normal. Luke uses his super powers to open the lock but then the door shuts and they are stuck. Now, they're i... moren trouble. As soon as they entered the mansion, it tried to kill them. The drapes were oozy matter thattried to swallow Thalia. "Then a voice telling us to come echoed around the house. "Two red eyes glowed in the dark, they were followed by huge monsters that looked like lions" (Taylor 20). The monsters had a body of a lion, legs of a horse and strong metal teeth. The demigods are in deep trouble.
review 2: This was a fun addition to the Percy Jackson and Hero's of Olympus series. I enjoyed reading the diary entries of Luke, Percy and Leo. What I loved most was reading about how the Author began writing the Percy Jackson series - he was inspired by his son who was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia (as are the demigods) and that Percy Jackson sprang to life in bedtime stories he told his son. I also liked that his son also had a story at the end of the book. This is a good book to read for any fans of the Percy Jackson series. less
