review 1: I had high expectations of this book but found it really hard going, I was 70% through and ready to quit but stuck with it. Most of the book I wanted to slap Jamie, she put up with what amounts to abuse and cruelty from her brothers and let them rule her life, I suppose she'd never known any different. The last third of the book was better but still it enough to make me want to read any more of the story.
review 2: When I read the reviews for this book, many of them were a bit on the negative side so I wasn't sure how this book would actually be. I rarely take reviews 100% to heart because everyone has their own personal opinion and mine may differ from yours. That being said I absolutely LOVED this book. I was drawn into the story from the very beginning,... more especially the dynamic between Jamie-Lea and her brothers. The way that she slowly opened up and became vulnerable to Jason warmed my heart. I also loved how Jason although at times was intimidated by her brothers, never backed down from his love for Jamie. It showed in everything that he did. He would do anything for her and he did time and time again, no matter what her brothers threw his way. I could not put this book down, I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning one night because I just had to finish it. Highly recommend!! less
