review 1: Struggled with this one. I like this series, but the " We're such a big happy family" stuff is getting old. It drags a lot more than the others, and there are too many new characters. A lot of the lighthearted quirkiness is missing as well. It's making me think the series will die for me sooner rather than later. Too soon,Ms. Naquin. Way too soon to start being this tired and repetitive.Bring back the enthusiasm of the first book and short story.I did like the fact that it wasn't a complete victory at the end. Nothing works out perfectly in life. It helped to bring around a little realism. It also kept me from docking it down to two stars.
review 2: This is the third book in the Monster Haven series and Zoey continues to delight me with her eccentric fashion ch... moreoices and her optimistic attitude. This book completes the story arc that has been going on concerning the missing Aegis in general and Zoey's missing mother in particular. Once again, solving the problems they face is a team effort, with Zoey taking the lead. There are some new characters introduced that I think we will be seeing more of in later books. Overall this was a great addition to the series and I love learning more and more about Zoey's world. less
