review 1: So it's official. I am now a member of the Rob Colton fan club. His books are just fun to read, boasting solid story-telling, endearing characters, and an uncynical commitment to his genre. If Colton doesn't deviate much from the usual sci-fi plot lines--in this case deadly cyborgs and illegal government weapons research--it's because he knows how enjoyable these familiar stories can be when they are told with energy and affection. Bottom line: I am really enjoying this series and can't wait for the next installment. Warmly Recommend.
review 2: A very different story when comparing it to the first book in this series. The writing was more polished and very vivid. The action scenes, especially those written to creep you out and keep you on edge, were riveti
... moreng and heart pounding. Kane and Aron's relationship started off as lusty attraction personified, but soon developed into something more, a love that went beyond their differences and station. Loved Kane's alpha tendencies (which weren't too over the top) and how Aron had no issues with it (too turned on by it really), and I was happy to see that despite the odds, they found their HEA. Would definitely like to see a book 3 come about, especially since all roads are now leading back to Degan. Will be on the look out for it for sure. less
