review 1: This amazing little book had me gripped from the start. It has all the makings of being considered up there with the best.I must firstly address the errors which have been acknowledged by the author in the preface but not corrected, which I find rather strange. I would have thought he would want to put that right as they do distract you from the flow and the enjoyment of the novel, but hey, I haven't written a novel so who am I to criticize! at least this guy has done it!I would advise anyone who embarks on this gripping tale to read it with a view to being very privileged in being given the opportunity to be reading the first draft of an amazing best seller. Now that said, to the tale.It had me gripped from the start, rather disturbing in parts but life is!I found the pace ... morerather inconsistent at times and it does neglected the characters, but that could be changed.I felt a little bit like being in the village along with the dammed,(another great book!) but that is not a criticism, just a feeling of the scariness of a whole community in shock aspect.I was a little disappointed in the ending, I had considered God and aliens and wanted something more of what I felt was promised,so the denouement was a little lacking for me.Advise to self, try and write a novel as good as this and make sure its proof read!
review 2: This was a rather disappointing read. The idea behind the novel is interesting but poorly developed which is a shame. There is no real character development which means readers don't care about what happens to them and the author doesn't have the best description capability. It wasn't until about 60% of the way through that the novel starts picking up but at the end I was surprised that that was it and that I had read the whole thing for that to be it. I'm glad I downloaded it for free because I think I would have been annoyed if I had paid money for it. less
