review 1: I guess I just don't Get Splat the Cat. Nothing like going to the zoo on a class trip and not getting to see what you wanted to see most..THE PENGUINS and then your friend steals the penguins from the zoo and takes them home and puts them in your bathroom. (insert eye roll) I guess kids will think this book is fun, I thought it wasn't anything to rave about. But if you need a book about going to the zoo...here it is! (PS Elephants are scared of Mice...that is why mice can't come on a field trip to the zoo...it just ruins the whole day..mice in general are only good as a food source for other animals like hawks, snakes etc. I DO NOT LIKE MICE!!!)
review 2: Field trip - Zoo - penguins. Humorous is definitely a way to describe this one. Very appropriate for readi... moreng with little ones after a family read of Mr. Popper's Penguins. Splat's off to a school field trip to the zoo, but told Seymour (the mouse) to stay home in respect of the elephant's fears. Seymour has other plans... Splat is most excited about seeing the penguins, but things do not go quite as planned... Thanks to HC. less
