review 1: I really wanted to like this book. The story was a only decent one if I'm honest, but it was the idea of knights in an almost Hogwarts like setting that didn't feel at all like the HP that made my keep reading. However the story was slow, draw out to the point past tension and thrill right into the dead spot of dull.Don't get me wrong it had detail in those lines, but as it painted the picture it lost the pace and more importantly the emotion. So it was OK
review 2: While not the best, I think this book is fairly well done. What the author does well:-good sense of adventure, the experiences (quests) of the book are believable and entertaining-unique world-the book moves right along, not wasting time on events not central to the plot-good feel of magic not magical
... morely solving every problem..there are problems beyond the control of the main characters. What could be done better-characters are one dimensional and their behavior is not consistent through out the book. It makes the characters feel sketched in rather than fully drawn.-things happen a bit too easily causing the 'epicness' (if I can use that word) to be lacking.-like the 1st point...to many "trusted" people are corrupt. It makes Dremlock kingdom feel like its ran by squires while squires are asked to do all the real work. -Logically inconsistencies. less
