review 1: An interesting time-travel premise ... family puts the final touch on its Victorian house renovation, goes to bed, and wakes up in 1909, same house. It was fairly interesting, but it wasn't great literature. There was a lot that could have been explored that wasn't. And the occasional deep dive into "researched" details -- Billy Sunday's preaching, for example -- came on kind of heavy and obvious.
review 2: The premise of the book was interesting, but the story didn't move along very quickly. The writing style was very conversational, which didn't come across well on paper. There was really no reason given for how the house transported them back, even at the end of the book. Since the book is so short, it would have benefited from some added information about t
... morehe characters to better develop them along the way. For example, Linda was happy about being transported back, but the reader had no idea why because we didn't know the character well. Even the main character seemed very two-dimensional. Good for a first book, but definitely needs some developmental work. less

Very intriguing. The reader is kept on the edge, trying to process the mystery of time travel.

Interesting points to ponder especially for those who yearn for "the good old days".

the only good thing I can say about this story is that it was over quickly....
