review 1: Homosexual advocates may make emotional appeals about the validity of their conduct. Because something feels right or seems enlightened, the suggestion is that it must be morally viable. But underneath emotional appeals lurk presuppositions. Reilly seeks to illuminate and examine the rational underworking—and logical outcome—of the homosexual movement. This book is unlikely to sway those committed to the cultural acceptance of sodomy but it provides a thoroughly cogent look at what drives this movement.
review 2: This book doesn't even pretend to be objective - it is a vicious homophobic polemic by an extreme revanchist catholic. The author focuses almost exclusively on gay men (don't these types always - I wonder why?) whom he refers to as "sodomites" rep
... moreeatedly in order to dehumanize a class of people he views as sub-human. Every far right conspiracy chestnut is thrown in - sexual deviants, child predators, terrorists, subversives. If you substituted jews for gays, you would recognize anti-semitic tropes of a small, devious minority infiltrating white christian society in order to subvert it from within - including "forcing" the APA to de-list homosexuality as a mental disorder in 1973 and then rapidly taking over the media, hollywood, the universities, the social sciences, the courts and even the mainline churches. His solution is to pass a constitutional amendment overturning Lawrence v Texas and re-criminalizing "sodomy" with strict prison sentences. Just for good measure, reverse the APA decision and experiment with aversion therapy (maybe the good old shock treatments - who knows) to offer a cure to repentant sinners. This book could have been written by Paul Cameron. less
