review 1: Catchy title, great premise. The story moves at a brisk pace and manages to keep you engaged in spite of a few minor blunders along the way. Unfortunately, the ending - which I'm not going to spoil here - ruined it for me. It's not that I don't like it; I just don't think it was earned. What happens amounts to a takeback of nearly everything that has come before, sacrificing the intriguing premise of the novel to a twist that comes so out of nowhere even M. Night Shyamalan would cry foul.

Matthew is grabbed by a crazy man who demands that Elizabeth find the fingers of victims, or he will detonate a collar around Matthew's neck. There is a lot of violence and some plot turns before the conclusion, which turns out well for SOME of the characters. less
