review 1: The ending surprised me. At first I was disappointed that it wasn't the standard 'love conquers all' or even searching forever for the love you lost. After mulling on it for awhile, it was refreshing to have a total left turn at the very end, and felt it echoed real life nicely, as we all know life never turns out how we expect, and sometimes settling for what we initially see as our second choice turns out to be the best, most meaningful fulfilling decision we ever make. I enjoyed this series very much. It has taken awhile to find another book/series that deserved a space on my bookshelf (real bookshelf, not metaphorical) to be read over and over and this one certainly qualifies.
review 2: I feel like this was the weakest installment in the series. The sto
... morery has gotten very dark and the odds are stacked against our intrepid band of friends and allies, but this isn't the problem that I had with the book. My problem with the book is that it took sooooo long to get to the action. I believe that leaving the Chathrand slowed the progression of the story down considerably and I felt myself growing bored at times. However, I LOVE the character growth and the end of the book is fantastic (although the story is far from over). I feel like a lot of loose ends were tied up and the stage is now set for the next book. less

Not as good as book 2, it kind of drifted. But I give it the 4th for originality
