review 1: Theft, deceit, cover-ups, lies, secrets, fraud, and more are at the heart of this novel of intrigue. Two families are caught in a web of widening proportions as more secrets are revealed. United by the deaths of their fathers, Rose and Tom must undercover facts that will either clear their fathers' names or reveal them as white-collar criminals. Well-written, detailed, and intricate, this Christian fiction will keep you turning pages until the end. Don’t jump to conclusions: there are too many twists in the plot to decide early-on who is guilty and who is not. Highly entertaining.
review 2: I've grown very fond of Robert Whitlow over the past few years. Labeled "the Christian John Grisham", this description is pretty accurate. The stories are legal thr
... moreillers and are intriguing reads without being too intense or deep. Still, the spiritual themes make the stories a bit more in depth. In this novel, Tom Crane starts out with a day that must be a Friday the 13th it's so bad. He loses his job at a large Atlanta law firm when he was anticipating a partnership and his girlfriend breaks up with him, taking his cat with her when she leaves. Tom returns to the small town he grew up in to settle his father's estate, staying with his great-uncle, a devoutly religious man. The legal part of the story involves an embezzlement scheme that I'm afraid I didn't quite grasp, but the characters were good, I enjoyed Tom's spiritual journey, and the ending was satisfactory to me. less
