review 1: I loved this book Neil Armstrong was a true American hero. How come we never elected him president? Anyway, this book seemed to focus on his extraordinary strength of character. I think it failed to adequately convey how truly excellent he was at his actual job as a test pilot. He really was the right choice for the moon mission, and this book didn't really share the details of his expertise. Possibly such details would have been lost on the target audience. Instead the author emphasized his family life and facts such as: he didn't much enjoy the attention of parades and the like. At any rate I highly recommend this book to all children who love heroes.
