review 1: It wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. Very average in every aspect. The plot had its minor up and downs for one third of the book and then it's pretty flat till the end. I still barely know how ALL the characters look like, everything is explained very roughly - usually I'm the one who complains about books that go into too much details into the scenery (like Tolkien describing every single culm on middle-earth, no offense, I love lotr). But here for the first time I'm craving for details, because I barely relate to any of the characters and their surroundings. The second book is supposed to bring more suspense and seriousness in, but it kinda backfired. Our kick-ass heroines are having emotional breakdowns in turn and since it's getting "serious" there's barely time for ANY... more jokes. Since the author took away Maggie's sarcasm and humor, the only thing that kept me continue reading is Roux, at least you can count on her. Finally, second heroine gets a pairing too, however you'll recognize soon enough that their "falling in love story" resembles strongly Maggie's - which is barely existent, once again, love on first sight, bam! It just happened, just like that, ha! magic!Alright, maybe I'm being to critical, but I was just so disappointed that the author took away the only thing I enjoyed in the first book, all the sarcasm and wicket conversations between the protagonists. But as I said, this book is not bad, it's just very average. If you just want to turn off your brain, kill some time with familiar characters and setting, why not, go for it - even though it's supposed to get all serious, you'll have plenty of opportunities to lean back and relax while reading it.
review 2: I asked myself. Could I not continue reading the second book after I finished the first book? The answer is absolutely not. Yes, i chose Going Rouge instead of The Revenge of Seven, though Number Four and Adam the Mogadorian are in the middle of a battle with Adam's father, the Mogadorian's general. So, after Also Known As which reminds me of my favorite childhood movie, Agent Cody Bank, here we go the second book, Maggie and her new team are coming to Paris after her home is destroyed by Dominic Arment whose coins he once stole is stolen (again) by Maggie. Well, as the one who has vision to control Collective and monetize it and the one who thinks he is a professional and the best in this business, got his valuable treasure stolen by an 18 years old teenager in his own house is like a big slap in the face. The setting of place taken in Paris in one of the famous museum all over the world, Louvre. Gosh, I really love the part when Roux and Jesse make a scene in the Louvre, that's so so so funny.Anyway, after I read the last chapter, I was really expecting there is going to an epilogue to explain what happens next, since it is the last book from the series (or there is still more?). Especially, "If it's already been crated, it must be possible to re-create", yeah, I'm looking forward to the scene where the New Collective is created. Ah ya... one more thing, I also really wants to know what happen when Ames finally gives Roux a visit, or perhaps Ames is also going to Harper School??? Arrgghh... if there is no more book, at least give us readers an epilogue.e less

I like the first one more than this. Still, a cute and easy read though.
