review 1: (It really wasn't four stars for me, but I'm not the intended audience.) This is upbeat escapism for teen girls. Maggie Silver has been a spy all her life. She and her family get transferred to NY where she is point person for the first time, going undercover as a normal high school student. Along the way she picks up a fun best friend and a cute boyfriend. Although this is a contemporary read, it's a safe choice for teens who aren't in the market for too much detail, but still want to read a story with a love interest.
review 2: maybe 2.5 stars.... enjoyable but i feel like the writing and everything was a lot younger than i expected. and there was this relationship between jesse and maggie that was just really weird for me. i dont have a problem with ins
... moretalove necessarily i mean it depends case by case but i dont hate instalove just because its instalove y'know? but i do hate when things move too quickly and when it's been like two weeks and they're already planning their wedding. i mean again it is a case by case basis bc if its done well then yeah i might believe it and certainly in real life there is that thing where people have tremendous and passionate love for each other but i just didnt believe that w jesse and maggie. sure they were cute but i didn't really see this clear path where they went from just dating to being i love you. and jesse... idk maybe a little too sappy for me. i did groan a little bit at times I DONT KNOW i feel like im nitpicking but it just didnt really work for me. im still intrigued enough with the spy concept to continue but i dont feel like this was a great great book. there were a lot of things that were rushed and idk i just didnt really find it as endearing as so many others did. i mean i guess i see the appeal but wasnt really my thing less
