review 1: This book should be compulsory reading and given to any australian who has been brainwashed by fear and wants to "stop the boats". This book has made me deeply ashamed of the Australian government. I feel helpless and heartbroken. If you are feeling the same google Ali Al Jenabi and you can print out a form letter to send to Scott Morrison. It will prob be fruitless but maybe just maybe good might finally triumph over evil.
review 2: Everyone should have to read this book. I think it should be on the high school reading lists also. There is so much said about boat people and refugees, and people half the time have no idea what these people have been through and how they feel. This book gives us a glimpse into the lives of some of the unfortunate people and the
... morethings they have to survive just to survive.. That the Australian government portray things they way they wish us to perceive them, only means that we should be doing more research ourselves. I hope that one day soon, Ali Al Jenabi is given a final decision by our government. One that allows him the safety and opportunities to stay in Australia. Not all people who break the rules are bad. They often have reasons, bureaucracy can cause many people to take things into their own hands. less

A powerful book - a must read as its a story that needs to be told and heard, and not hidden.

An amazing book about the real story of why people take the harsh journey on leaky boats.
