review 1: A good book on building rapport with strangers. It has sample ideas and suggestions for starting conversations. Quick read with good ideas. My favorite quotes:1. "Smiling is the number one nonverbal technique you should utilize to look more accommodating."2. "When individuals speak slowly and clearly, they tend to sound more credible than those who speak quickly."3. "Suspending your ego is nothing more complex than putting other individuals' wants, needs, and perceptions of reality ahead of your own."
review 2: There is a guy inside the FBI. And he has written an insider book and leaks some of his best known secrets to interpersonal communications. These are secrets that are usually only available to folks on the inside with him. His name is Robin Dreeke. He
... more is a 15 year FBI veteran. He is the lead trainer for Social Engineering and Interpersonal Skills for the FBI. He is also the as head of the Behavioral Analysis Program that teaches other agents how to build rapport with anyone, anywhere and at any time. And he teaches them how to do it very quickly. This short book is really more of a pocket primer that is designed to be a work book that will literally teach you how to build a report with just about anyone. And once you have built that rapport, then you can communicate at a level that will allow you to achieve a level of cooperative communication that you do not otherwise enjoy.I found the book to be a really quick read. And I found the 10 secrets to be easy to grasp and easy to put into practice. I found myself already actually employing several of them. So, maybe I am a better communicator that I thought. This book is applicable to law enforcement, office environments, family and spousal communication and just moving day to day through life. This one gets all 5 stars! less
