review 1: One of the better ones that I can recall - certainly one of the better installments compared to the previous five or so. Loved Kelly, she was a great character and I was so jealous, wishing that I could be sitting at the table with the other Virgin River residents while she served up her amazing meals. Courtney was great. The book was good - the last 100 or so pages were incredible. Great story. And I did tear up at the end. Bravo Robyn Carr, bravo!
review 2: (Dec) This was a contemporary romance set in Virgin River, vs a VR romance, if that makes any sense. The main characters, Kelly and Leif, are connected to VR by only the slimmest of lines. While there were Jack and Preacher sightings, this book could have easily taken place anywhere. The VR characters w
... moreho showed up were window dressing (except Muriel, who is herself only connected to VR by a slim line), but that's all fine. This was just a really good basic romance that I enjoyed tremendously. Kelly is burned out at work - she's a chef who collapsed from stress in the kitchen of a fancy restaurant where she worked. She also was having a flirtation w/a famous (married) chef and envisioned more, once he divorced his wife. That whole thing bothered me - she was the Other Woman and knew it and found it was ok because he told her "we're married in name only." Truth or not is not important - she was wrong to go down that path. She escapes to VR where her sister lives (heroine in previous book). While there, she meets Leif, a widower w/an obnoxious teenage step-daughter, Courtney. Courtney is as much a star of this book as are Kelly and Leif. A brat at first, Courtney really grew on me and I found myself totally cheering her on by the end. Leif and Kelly have a lovely, slightly spicy romance, and of course, after a few issues are worked out, have a very nice HEA. Not sure who stars in the next VR, but my goal was to get though this series in 2013. I didn't quite finish, but I made good progress and plan to continue into 2014. less

Although I liked all the characters. . . this was one of the slowest book of the series.
